A Prince for Christmas

A woman in a tight dress stood by his portrait, her head tipped up like she was starting at him. Not awkward at all.

“What are you doing in here?” he asked. She froze then slowly turned on her heels. Her shoes were in her hands like she was trying to be quiet.

“Fuck.” Her eyes widened when her gaze locked with his then she bowed quickly, her tits almost spilling out of the top of her dress.

“Interesting greeting, but you’re not supposed to be in here.”

She slowly stood tall, her cheeks reddening like she was embarrassed.

“I was trying to escape from a pig with grabby hands and a god-awful stench.” Her nose wrinkled.

“So, you just decided to hide in here?” His brow arched before scanning the hall, then he stepped inside. He kept the door open to let her feel safe and have the option to escape.

“Well, this is my first time here, so I don’t exactly know where things are. I had meant to just use the bathroom.” She seemed on the verge of rambling. “I mean, I just got lost and thought if I locked the door behind me, he—”

Massimo lifted his hand and she stopped. “It’s fine. I’ll escort you to the restrooms and then back to the ballroom.”

“Really?” She beamed. This woman had an innocence to her. “I’m Scarlet, by the way, and right now I feel like Cinderella, only better.”

“How is this better?”

“Well, you actually know my name.” She laughed and bounced on her toes.

“Yes, that is true. It’s this way.” He motioned toward the door, and she shuffled to him.
