“Magic mirror, who’s the fairest of ‘em all?” She stared at her reflection and Lexi noticed it was from the Snow White movie but not completely. Then she moved the mirror to her ear as if it were a cell phone and she was listening to it.
Lexi took a step back and pulled Bruce with her. The woman’s eyes were hazy but snapped up to Lexi’s slight movement who froze before taking another step back.
“You my child should take this apple. And die.” She crackle laughed.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Lexi pulled Bruce and bolted across the street and ran as the woman started to give chase. The woman was either enjoying Halloween still or needed to be shoved into a mental institution.
“Come here pretty.” She crackled again.
Bruce barked out ready to defend Lexi, dragging her down a little. “Bruce, come on.”
She twisted and ran into someone at least two feet taller, because she felt a solid chest against her face. Before she could fumble back two arms wrapped around her waist, keeping her up right.
“Evening.” A smooth voice filtered into her adrenaline pumped brain. “Is everything okay?”
Lexi pulled back and looked up at the man’s face. The distance was enough for the woman to snatch the back of Lexi’s head and yanked her back while shoving the red apple toward Lexi’s face.
She screamed out and Bruce lunged at the odd woman, knocking both of them back onto the ground. The fucking fruit slammed into her nose then fell to the ground along with them.
“Bruce!” She didn’t need her dog biting the crazy woman and getting into trouble.
His paws were pressed into the screaming crazy woman’s chest but pulled back and hobbled over to Lexi, sniffing at her face.
“What the hell?” The man’s voice broke the silence.
“This woman needs help.” Lexi pointed at the stranger who was struggling to get up as two other men surrounded her and pulled her to her feet.
“What makes you say that?” “She thinks she’s the fucking evil queen.”
